What is Blink?

How do I download the app?

You can access and download Blink app from App Store or Google Play.

How do I start using the app?

Once you download Blink app, you will first land on the login page. Swipe up to join the community and register using your email address. Follow the steps to complete the account opening process. Blink is available for Jordanians for now, but we're expanding to cover other nationalities, soon!

How do I open an account?

To open your account, download Blink app, swipe through and follow a few easy steps. So, what’s needed to open an account? It’s pretty simple, really!

  1. Your Smartphone.
  2. A valid Jordanian national ID.
  3. About 15 minutes of your time.

Where can I withdraw and deposit cash?

With Blink we are promising you freedom and clarity, so here are all the options you have:

  1. Use your Yellow Sun debit card to withdraw from Capital Bank ATMs for FREE.
  2. Use your Yellow Sun debit card to withdraw from any bank's ATM, local or international. Charges may apply.
  3. Use your Rebellious Red credit card to withdraw from any ATM, local or international. Careful here, charges apply. Better use your Yellow Sun debit card for cash withdrawal.
  4. Withdraw from Capital Bank ATMs without a card.
  5. Use your Yellow Sun debit card to add money to your account from Capital Bank ATMs.
  6. Add money to your account from Capital Bank ATMs without a card.

How long does it take to open an account?

We have standard account opening requirements, but it depends on your situation. It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. If you need help, you can contact our Engagement Team by calling 065200100.

Can I send money?

Of course, start by sending money within Blink. Sending money to other banks is on its way. We will notify you when we add features to Blink, but we're on it!

Can I view my account transactions?

You can view your transactions by swiping up your account or your credit card. The default transaction period will be the last 30 days but you can select the last 3 months or last 6 months. You can search numbers or keywords using the search bar to find what you're looking for. If you need to access or download a statement, you can also do that from the upper right corner of your transactions screen. Everything is a finger tip or a swipe away!

How do I issue a debit card card?

We will automatically issue your Yellow Sun debit card as soon as you open your account. It is free and can be immediately used. Your full card details are on the back of the card, just click on "Flip Card" to view them and use your card online. Don't worry, we're also sending you the physical card to your doorstep for free! Aramex will contact you to deliver it to you. Don't forget to confirm that you've received your card on the app.

You can also issue a supplementary Yellow Sun debit card to a close relative from card settings.

Will I get a physical card?

Your Blink cards are virtual and can be used immediately upon issuance, you can access all the card details by flipping the card on the app. But, yes, we're also sending you the physical card to your doorstep for free! Aramex will contact you to deliver it to you. Don't forget to confirm that you've received your card on the app. Facing issues with card delivery? What limits are set on my cards?

The default limits on your Blink cards are as follows:

  • Contactless payment without entering PIN: JOD 150 daily
  • Cash withdrawal limit- JOD 5,000 daily
  • Cash deposit limit- JOD 5,000 daily
  • Merchant payment limit- JOD 5,000 daily
  • Online purchase limit- JOD 5,000 daily

You can change these limits by accessing your card settings.If you're asking about your Rebellious Red credit card limit, that's a different story. That's your credit limit and it is the maximum limit you can use your card for at any given point in time. To decide your limit, we generated a score based on your personal and credit information. You will be able to apply for a higher credit limit in the future. We regularly review your score. You can find your maximum limit on the back of your card, just flip the card on the app.

Can I control my card settings?

Just apply for your Rebellious Red credit card from Blink app, accept the limit you are granted, choose your settlement percentage and your card is ready to use. It is free and can be immediately used. Your full card details are on the back of the card, just click on "Flip Card" to view them and use your card online. Don't worry, we're also sending you the physical card to your doorstep for free! Aramex will contact you to deliver it to you. Don't forget to confirm that you've received your card on the app.

How do I pay back my credit card?

Your Rebellious Red credit card has a monthly cycle starting on the 2nd of each month and ending on the 2nd of the next month (for example, starting 2nd of February and ending on 2nd of March). During this cycle your transactions will be deduced from your maximum card limit. You will find your total used amount and maximum card limit on the back of your card when you flip it on Blink app. The remaining available amount will always be shown on the front of your card in the app. At the end of every cycle, the card statement will be issued and the minimum due pament will be calculated. It will be the percentage that you selected as minimum pay back when you applied for the card. You have to pay back this amount within 28 days (for the same example, by the 29th of March). You can pay back any day from the "Pay Back" button on the front of your card, or we will automatically pay back the amount at the end of the month by directly deducting it from your account. Be careful not to miss your payment! A late payment fee would be charged. After paying back the minimum payment, the remaining used amount that is not due for payment will remain as used balance rolled over month by month and will be charged interest.

What is the difference between debit and credit cards?

Your Yellow Sun debit card is linked directly to your account and requires you to have money in your account to be able to make payments. As long as you have money in your account, you can continue using your Yellow Sun debit card. You can use it to add money into your account on a Capital Bank ATM as well. Everyone that joins Blink will automatically get a Yellow Sun debit card for free.

The Rebellious Red credit card is not issued to everyone automatically. You have to apply for the card and you will be eligible to a maximum credit limit. Depending on your personal and credit information, we generate a score that is accordingly used to approve or reject your application, and in assigning your credit limit. Once your card is issued, you can use it for your purchases. You will not be spending from your account directly, instead, from your credit limit. At the end of each month your minimum pay back amount will be calculated and your statement will be issued. You should pay back the minimum amount within 28 days (refer to the question "How do I pay back my credit card?" for more information).

How do I change my PIN?

For your Yellow Sun debit card, you will be asked to set your PIN immediately as your card is being issued. For your Rebellious Red credit card, you will receive your PIN via SMS. In both cases, you can change your PIN anytime from card settings. The settings icon is at the front of your card in the app.

How safe is Blink?

While we do things differently, we're still a bank. We are subject to Central Bank of Jordan regulations and your life is safe with us. Because we are digital-only, we invested in state-of-the-art technology and ensured full compliance with all global cyber security and data protection standards. We have tested our app over and over to ensure it is safe and solid. We are using two-factor authentication to verify your identity and when we're in doubt we will make sure to contact you. We will never send you any instructions to provide your password via any channel. We do not use email as a way to request any action from you. Email will only be used as a means of communication. You will receive notifications via SMS but you will not be asked to send any information via SMS. You can contact our Engagement Team directly from the app (which ensure you are authenticated). You can use direct call or chat. In case you contact us using our hotline 06-5200100, we will ask you a few questions to verify your identity. Blink away at ease!

Is my data safe?

Your data is protected and in a safe place. We keep all your data in our servers with multiple layers of security. We are following all global data protection standards. We also comply with all regulations pertaining to confidentiality. Your data is safe with us!

How can I keep my account secure?

Here are some tips on how to keep your account secure:

  1. We use two-factor authentication in registering you. You will use your email address and password to login to Blink app everytime. Alternatively, you can enable biometric login to use your fingerprint or face ID for login.
  2. You will receive a code everytime you purchase online. Some websites do not require that, but most websites do.
  3. Contactless payment using your Blink cards without entering your PIN has a limit of JOD 55 per transaction and JOD 150 per day in total. If the limit is exceeded you will need to enter you PIN on the point of sale device at the merchant.
  4. You will receive SMS notifications for all important transactions, but you will not be asked to send any information via SMS. When in doubt, make sure to contact us.
  5. Do not give away your email and password to anyone.
  6. Keep your Blink cards in a safe place.
  7. We will never send you any instructions to provide your password via any channel.
  8. We do not use email as a way to request any action from you. Email will only be used as a means of communication.
